Advantages: Plenty of features

Disadvantages: Speakers powered by little ants shouting

Having fully converted to Samsung for all my electrical needs the R505 was the last piece in the Korean jigsaw.

Having had the laptop for approximately 6 months I have had no problems at all to report. It has a slick exterior and not to bulky and from a distance could pass for a much more premier model.

Lift the lid and you are confronted with a rather cheap and flimsy looking keyboard. However don't threat even with my sausage fingers i have had no issues with damage. I have never fully understood why people slate vista i find it as reliable and usable as its predecessor XP.

Most of the drawbacks with the laptop come with the software in particular the 30day only trial to mircosoft office. In terms of hardware it packs a decent punch, i have yet to encounter any real issues with slow down although my gaming days are behind me!

One issue which I can't let slid are the speakers in a word garbage and additional portable ones are a must. Having 3 usb ports, a tv output and built in webcam are all nice touches for under £400.

I guess a laptop review would not be worth its salt without mentioning the battery life and peoples unrealistic expectation that laptops can run on fresh air. The R505 can hold its breath but will need to come up for air after a couple of hours of heavy use age.

Summary: You get alot for your money
