Advantages: I didn't pay for mine.
Disadvantages: Some technical difficulties.
The Samsung R519 is my first laptop. as I had always previously used desktops I was reluctant to spend money on a laptop so I didn't, it was a free gift when I got my most recent mobile phone contract last autumn.
The one I have has the intel dual core 2.16 with 3ghz of ram and a 250gb hard drive. The computer performs most everday functions without any issues whatsoever. Games can be a little bit dodgy as the graphics can let it down a bit. By fiddling round with the graphics options I have managed to run all the games I have wanted to but I have a preference for retro gaming.
Last month something went completely wrong with the laptop. I had been using it with the pre-installed version of windows vista. As is the norm now days the recovery files are on the hard drive. I managed to backup my files using the 'Samsung Recovery Centre' but when I tried to reinstall windows it deleted everything from the hard drive and kept crashing whilst trying to reinstall windows. I created a windows vista recovery disk using my desktop but when I had reinstalled it found that the microsoft sticker with the pruduct key for windows was on the bottom of the laptop and had faded. In the end I bought windows 7 and it has been running better ever since.
To buy the R519 would cost around £300-350. If I were spending that much money on a laptop I would buy something else as it does not have an HDMI output and I have had the technical difficulties with it. One thing I have definitely learned from having a laptop is to check out where the windows product key is and write it down. For free this is a great computer but I still prefer my desktop.
Summary: It's O.K.
