One problem with this laptop is that it is very slow you might want to invest your money and buy something with a bit more ram like the advent roma 2000 costs £340 (from pc world)Alternatively you can simply upgrade you laptop which might cost you quite alot depending on were you go.
Very stylish and sleek laptop, although maybe a little thick and/or weighty for some people! Has been very sturdy for me so far (touch wood!) as it has suffered a few minor knocks and drops over the last year. However one thing I have noticed is that it doesn't like being pick up by the screen. The screen will now intermittently flicker from normal to darker. It's not that much of a dimming but when it's persistent it can be very distracting. Also it seems to be sensitive to the keystrokes, as sometimes that makes it flicker.
Has a nice big hard drive for most of your average PC user or even some game hobbyists; however for any serious gaming it would require a moderate hardware upgrade to cope with normal settings, although I have tried a few games like Fallout 3 on the laptop and on the lowest settings it runs smoothly.
The laptop is prone to getting hot after prolonged usage, however that is to be expected with any laptop, and the battery life is no song and dance, although it will just about last long enough to watch a movie, as long as it's less than 150 minutes. Keyboard is perfect, nicely spaced out and almost feels like a desktop keyboard, do be careful however, it does come with special Ag+ (silver ion) nano particles that are anti bacterial but food and other stuff WILL get underneath the keyboard and is a pain to get out. Having said that, I've never had any problems caused by stuck particles. So as long as you're relatively clean around the laptop it should be fine.
Laptop is quick to start, only problem I've so far is its temperamental connection with wireless internet; however I've ALWAYS had problems with this, on multiple PC's so it might be nothing. Software wise, it comes with the usual novelty stuff, its biggest let down, is that it comes with Vista (shudder) and not with the vastly improved version, Windows 7. I personally found Vista hard and counterintuitive to use, also it was very complicated to do simple things, like viewing hidden files and yet very easy to do the more novel side of applications. All in all however, upgrade to windows 7 and this is an extremely useful and efficient laptop for your home.
