Samsung Q1

Rating:
someone stole my laptop and I didn t have a particularly big budget to replace it. I needed something small, but at the time small meant expensive. Then the Samsung Q1 emerged on the scene, with a 7" screen (3 inches smaller than my missing laptop) and what looked to be very impressive portability, all at a good price. Well the specs on the laptop weren t great, it had 512MB as standard, upgradable to 1GB if you were brave enough to take the whole case apart (I was, it was fine). The HD wasn t too shocking for a tiny laptop, 40GB when 60GB was about the limit in 10" and lower notebooks. The processor was an Intel Celeron M, 1900MHz. Again not thrilling, but ...

Samsung Q30 Silver 1100

Rating:
t the fastest machine to use however, especially by today s standard of super fast machines. It has a paltry 512 MB of RAM and runs on an Intel Pentium M Processor 1.10 Ghz. The hard drive is 40 GB and there are two USB slots. All this seems pretty appalling today when you can pick up small netbooks that run on Linux for under £150 in Tesco with a similar spec, but none of these netbooks are anything like as sleek as the Q30 and lack some of the better features. This little beauty has never failed to pick up a wireless network and connects a treat using the integral Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG WiFi adapter. There is also a built in memory card reader which can cope ...
Samsung X06 LTM 740

Rating:
then headed for Tottenham Court road, where we knew there would be a great range to chose from and reasonable prices to match. We finally wound up with this, the Samsung X06 with Celeron. The laptop certainly has the looks and the style to rival any other. It comes in a dazzling silver finish, a refreshing change from the blacks and matt grey colours we have become so accustomed to seeing. It provides that sort of modern, revolutionary touch and you feel you are getting a good piece of technology. It is sleek too, slight, once again adding to that ultra modern feel that means everything should be smaller and more compact. It isn t emblazoned with logos and brand names, ...
