Sony Vaio GRT915M
Vaio laptop with excellent screen and good build quality. (336 words)by Gareth Young - written on 23/03/08
Rating:
ports (only 2 of which are 2.0 I think). The on-board wireless networking is useful and works well, other features that I ve not used include firewire and a Sony memory stick drive. The lack of a serial port could annoy some users. I ve also set this up with a Linux kernel - difficulties here involve changing the brightness of the display (done in XP by specialist sony software) and changing the volume (for the same reasons). I had to NDISwrap the wireless driver to get that to work. The 0.5 gig of RAM is reasonable, but annoyingly comes in 2x256M modules so you have to change both to get more memory. Build quality is reasonable - its been fairly badly abused in my ...

Rating:
slight hardware or Sony software problem. Strong performance of 2.7ghz processor is backed up by reasonable amount of RAM memory (512mb). From my personal experience it was enough for all the applications I was running on this computer. High resolution screen is also a perk, very nice to watch DVDs and videos on it. Another ...

Rating:
I have had my Sony Vaio GRT716S for 3 months now and I thought that it is was high time I wrote a review about this marvellous notebook. Founded in 1946 Sony started out as a small company specialising in transistors radios, over the years their influence in the electronics market has grown and today they are probably the worlds most recognisable brand of electronic goods. In 1998 Sony launched their Vaio range of notebooks and these too have become the must have name in the notebook market. As with most of the Sony Vaio notebooks it has a sleek and sharp looking design intended to lure looks conscious buyers like myself. It has dimensions of (WxDxH) 35.7 cm x 30 cm x ...
