Advantages: Works Well and Hubbie won't borrow it
Disadvantages: Pricier than some models
I am sitting here comfortably settled on the sofa with my gorgeous Sony Vaio CS11S/P on my lap, so I thought I would take the opportunity to tell the world how brilliant she is. Of Course she is a she, nothing this beautiful and stylish could possibly be a man!!
I fell in love at first site with her at PC World, when I went for a look knowing my old lappy would soon be departing to silicon heaven. At £799 she was slightly more than I wanted to pay, so after a bit of shopping around I found her at Tesco Direct for £709.
The colour is a shiny pearl like baby pink, which covers the whole of the laptop, unlike the pink Dell I looked at which was only the outside cover. She is slightly smaller than a standard laptop with a 14.1 inch screen, which I actually like - She fits in a safe so she can come on holiday. The keys are what has been referred to as scrabble style - The letters stick out quite well spaced from the base plate like scrabble letters but with no gaps to allow crumbs to gather. I thought this was a bit weird at first, but now find them much more accurate to type with!!
She came with 4GB of RAM, and 320GB Hard Drive, which means she is quick with loads of storage space. I am terrible for having loads of windows open at a time and never have any problems with slow down or crashing. She has Windows Vista Home Premium built in, and comes with a 3 month trial of Microsoft Office 2007. She is also Bluetooth compatible, which is great for transferring stuff over from your phone, and has a build in webcam, but I have not used that.
There is also a built in DVDR, and the picture and sound quality from a DVD is great - I also use iplayer, 4od and other similar internet TV players and have always found the sound and quality to be as good as the TV. I have read some complaints that the fans on this model can be noisy but the only noise I have found is when it is reading a disk, and that is only for about a minute.
As you can probably tell, I am really pleased with my purchase. The battery life seems really good, as although it is normally on charge downstairs, I have never got less than 2 hours out of the battery. Although it is not the cheapest laptop on the market, it is stylish and lightweight with great performance and I think she was worth every penny
