Ok, so this laptop has some quite impressive specs with 4gb of RAM and a 500gb hard drive there is plenty of space for most users. The 4gb of ram makes this laptop fly. But, if its the spec that you want, its always worth comparing with other brands prices. However This does have a very smooth and attractive appearance with a thickness of only 31mm it is very appealing.
It has a very big 17.3 inch screen which provides a large on screen workspace with crystal clear picture quality.
It comes running on the latest Windows 7 which is quite easy to use and packs some neat features.
Now this laptop does have some downsides. The battery only holds out for around 110 mins, not very impressive when some laptops can deliver as much a 7 hours!! Its also quite heavy at just over 3kg, and combined with its large size to accommodate that massive screen, its probably not that good for 'a man on the move'.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants a laptop for use around the house but not on the move.
I brought this laptop when my Toshiba had decided to go to Laptop heaven.
I had taken a while to look for the ideal laptop for me. I had wanted to avoid Toshibas, as the previous one I had had given me greif for a while. I had always heard that generally, Sonys were reliable. My toshiba had lasted me nearly 3 years, and a few people I know have had a working Sony Vaio for nearly 8. So the odds looked good for Sony!
I mainly use it for gaming & surfing the internet, which this can handle brilliantly. It even has a dedicated hotkey to access the internet that little bit quicker.
The display is fantastic! Crystal Clear! Perfect for watching films and for gaming. The processor may not be as fast as others that you can get, but for the money you pay for this, it does the job in hand. I've not had any problems with it yet!
One thing I do really like about this, is that not only do you have the usual Windows updates, Sony also issue their own, tailored for the laptop you are using, just to make sure that everything is working. However, I have only found that this is not the case with one thing. The mouse pad has a mind of its on at times. I have read up about this and it because Sony haven't issued an update to make the mouse pad software compatible with Windows 7 x64.
