      Disadvantages

Apart from the battery, this machine offers superb performance and features for a good price.

      ...its battery life, quite simply.

But before you leave, don't be put off by this, as I shall explain.

      Processing:

To put it simply, the i7 processor coupled with GB ram and quad core processors, the computing power of this machine is top quality. It can run several demanding software packages at once, such as photographic or video editing. Or if you just want Microsoft to work lightening fast, this will certainly do the trick, never making you wait more than a couple of seconds to load such programs. 9/10

      Ease of use:

High quality keyboard with sensitive easy to press buttons. The touch pad, could be larger, but does an adequate job. The two USB ports might be an issue, depending on how you intend to utilize them. For example I use a wireless mouse, and thus have a receiver constantly plugged in, and this can be irritating, and in the way when using the laptop on a smaller desk. The optical out port (audio out) is also near near the front, and when i use my speakers, have to trail the cable all the way from the back of the desk to the port, which again can be irritating. 6/10

      Features:

The speakers are of adequate quality for short term music listening, but if you like your music of that little bit higher quality or volume, be prepared to invest in some decent laptop speakers. Unlike apple laptops this has a hdmi out port, which means you can out put in full High Definition to a a HD TV. This is very good for showing pictures, videos or presentations, and the picture/audio quality is very high. I took the option of Blu-ray on my laptop, and the quality of picture is unbeatable. It is expensive, but whilst future proofing your laptop that little bit more, it also makes great use of the HD screen it comes with. Would have been nice to have an illuminated keyboard, but the range doesn't offer this, you may not think it is necessary, but if you want to work in low light conditions when your completing your coursework into the early hours, you may not want to sit in a light house. 8/10

      Battery life:

On balanced performance max brightness, average use ( internet, email) ->1.5 hours
High performance max brightness (internet, email) ->1 hour
Power saver (includes lowest brightness) -> 2.25 hours

Not spectacular, but when i'm not using it on the go, I normally just leave it plugged in to enable the use of higher performance. 5/10

      Overall:

This laptop is perfect for you if you don't plan on using it for extended periods of time away from a power source, but apart from the battery this machine offers superb performance and features for a good price when compared to similar spec apple models. Also if the battery is putting you off, you could always buy a spare battery and just switch them over. (I purchased my laptop in Best Buy for £566.99.)

      7.5/10
