Great laptop, poor battery! (Sony Vaio FS315E)

I've had this laptop for around 5 years now and so far I've been very impressed with it. When it was new I paid a very reasonable price for it (£700) and so far it's been worth every penny. Although it only has a 1.6Ghz processor and 512mb of RAM its still capable of running all the modern applications such as office 2007, windows live messenger, itunes etc. If you're wanting to run larger programs such as Photoshop then I recommend upgrading the RAM (this is what I did) as it stops the laptop from slowing and becoming unresponsive.

This may not be the best laptop compared to what is on the market today but it's served me well and I have no plans on changing it yet (at least while its still working!). The size of the laptop makes it every easy to carry around and although not as lightweight as some laptops its still very easy to transport about and can comfortably be carried using both a rucksack or laptop carry case.

The only problem I will highlight is the battery life, although after 5 years you expect the battery to deteriorate I didn't expect it to be as bad as it is, If I run the laptop off the battery then I find myself having to recharge it after 30 minutes.

With times changing and technology advancing I doubt many people will be buying such an old model but in the time I've had it its served me very well and I recommend it to anyone.
