Sony Vaio FW11E
**************
Sony is a leading player in consumer electronics market with almost all types of electronics products. In laptop market Sony has some good featured notebooks in Vaio series with lower budget level to higher configured perfect notebooks. Now I am going to discuss latest notebook Sony Vaio FW11E, with its features and advantages and disadvantages also.
Design and look
*************
Notebook has professional look with some latest implementation in terms of display with 16.4" TFT, and now if we thin previous notebooks from all manufacturers than this is a latest implementation with 16.4" display screen. All previous notebooks in such category have display screen something about 14.1" and 15." Inch. The higher display was about 17". So take a look out of the rules and go for new 16.4" notebook.
Dimension of this notebook is slightly larger than 15.4" series and it measured as Width38.4 cm Depth26.1 cm Height3.7 cm and Weight is about 3.1 kg. Weight is slightly heavier than common average notebook weight. if we compare it with Apple Macbook than its Height or thickness is approximately double.
Processing Speed
**************
Notebook is designed for heavy applications and better gaming experience so that there is good processor has been provided with Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 clock speed is about 2.26 GHz. Front size data bus speed is also improved with excellent 1066 MHz of total speed. Processing speed is superb with latest processor but L2 cache size is slightly average with 3 MB of L2 cache. There is nothing bad with 3 MB cache but considering this processor it should be more than 4 MB.
Chipset also has been provided with latest Mobile Intel PM45 Express, designed specially for notebooks. So considering all aspect in terms of processor and chipset, this notebook has excellent processing speed with latest featured technology.
Memory
*******
Memory is a main part in any notebook in terms of internal random access memory and internal storage media. RAM is considering as a main part with processor for good processing speed and it play measure role in speed. Sony has provided good RAM here with 3 MB DDR2 SDRAM with 800 MHz of total speed. Here it can be improved with DDR3 technology and that will be better solution in this notebook but it is only DDR@ but no problem at all it provide good speed with this processor.
Storage media is another good feature in notebooks, but strongly recommend to keep SSD drive in notebook to keep your data secure. In this notebook there is a 250 GB - Serial ATA-hard disk drive and it is common with compare to all other notebooks. There will be better solution if Sony provides SSD drive with at least 120 GB of storage capacity.
Graphics Memory
**************
The most important part of any notebook or desktop PC is its graphics memory, and this notebook has a good graphics memory with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card and it has dedicated 256 MB of total graphics memory. It can also share memory with RAM and can provide extra memory from RAM if needed.
Other features
************
Other features are common with compare to all other notebooks like it has Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, High definition Audio, Card reader with multi card reading capacity, Wi-Fi adaptor and LAN, DVD writer etc etc.
Over all conclusion
***************
Notebook has good processing speed for latest gaming experience and heavy graphics applications. Good solution for home and office use.
