I use this laptop at work without a desktop screen. I have always used Sony Vaios, I use a different model at home, so I m fairly use to their functions. This laptop makes for a good computer for work purpose as it has a large screen 15.4, which makes seeing excel spreadsheets etc much easier without putting too much pressure on my eyes. The battery memory on this laptop is great, I can go about5 hours with out charging the laptop, even thought I work off the mains power rather than the battery when I need it for meetings etc I ve never ran out of battery. Got the Vaio bx-196sp, as we really liked the look of the screen, the X-Black screen is the best I have seen on a laptop. I would recommend that before you decide to buy any laptop, get yourself off to somewhere like PC World and see the screens on these. The laptop is quite a stylish design, however the lid outer gets scratched very easily. The processor is the Centrino 1.8Ghz, which should provide suitable performance for most office tasks.
