Advantages: Looks good

Disadvantages: Expensive, poor built quality, slow

I purchased this laptop about 4 years ago now and was disappointed from day one. Fresh out the box the laptop was slow and struggled with basic functions such as internet and playing videos. After about a year and a half things had gotten even worse, with the laptop taking about 10 minutes to turn on and the same to shut down. This may have been an issue with Windows Vista rather than the hardware. I've now removed vista and replaced it with linux and things are much faster.

The main issue I have with the laptop is the shoddy built quality. Everything feels very flimsy, plasticy and like it'll snap off at a moments notice. Within 6 months of buying the computer the F10 keys was loose and the L key had fallen off completely. The CD tray feels like it'll snap and buckle at any given moment and doesn't inspire confidence.

I bought a sony under the impression I was buying from a good manufacturer who made high quality computers. This is why I was prepared to pay that bit extra. I have been dissapointed and would not purchase another sony laptop again.
