Advantages: Very easy to use, fantastic screen
Disadvantages: Has not been the most reliable
I bought this laptop two and a half years ago as my first laptop. At around £400 it wasn't too expensive and as a non-gamer it has everything that I wanted. I mainly use it for word processing, browsing the internet and watching catch-up TV and DVDs.
The 15.4 inch widescreen is truly excellent with great clarity and bright colours. However I must report that now the backlight on it is not always working correctly, which is annoying and quite inconvenient. I have not yet looked into how much it would cost to have this replaced but may look at replacing the whole laptop instead. I have had two previous problems with this laptop (the system crashed once and the left mouse button on the touch pad stopped working), but as I bought it from Marks and Spencer I had a two year warranty on it which covered the repairs of both of these issues at no cost to me. Also it is worth noting that I haven't treated the laptop all that well - it has been dropped etc.
Despite these problems I must agree with a previous reviewer that I fell in love with this laptop and so am unwilling to replace it. I also have not upgraded the operating system to windows 7 as it wouldn't add that much to the product for me.
It is a very easy laptop to use and does everything that the average user would require from it. Despite it's faults I would definitely recommend this laptop. After two and a half years of use the battery still has a full two hours of life. The software which comes with it is also useful although a full version of microsoft office will need to be purchased.
Summary: An excellent laptop and a great buy!
