I've had this laptop for nearly a year and a half now, and I think it's great. Its light weight, easily fits into a rucksack, and has a great battery life. It's also highly resilient, to whatever I seem to do with it. It has been dropped, had a number of liquids spilt on it and still works efficiently.
In the specification it says the battery life lasts 4 hours, but I think this is more like 2-3 hours of general use. However this to me is still a pretty good battery life. It seems to have a good amount of memory, as I've never had to clean it out due to it being full. There's a built in web cam that is pretty decent, though I've only used it a few times. The built in wireless router is brilliant, and the laptop picks up signals really well. Only issue I've had is that it can be quite easy to knock the switch off on the front of the laptop, though this could just be a personal problem and is hardly a major concern. I've heard that some people have major problems with the touchpad, though I've only had a few incidents where the cursor has randomly ended up moving to the top of the screen.
The laptop enables you to watch DVDs, on a decent size screen with a good quality picture. It also comes with a reasonable amount of good quality games, which help to pass some time. Also the Intel Pentium Processor is sufficient enough to handle all the programs and applications that I run, which can be quite a few sometimes. Even now after using it excessively for the 1½ years, it still runs quite fast.
Overall I highly recommend this laptop, as an affordable good quality laptop.
Sony Vaio Ns30e Battery life 2.5/3 hours Not that Heavy,Very clear screen. No Problems & a reasonable price.Especially the 250gb Hard drive & 3gb ram.I'd Definitely recommend this laptop.
I bought a sony vaio vgn ns30e from Comet, Guildford, mid oct 2009, & almost immediately, the touchpad starting playing up. Halfway through a sentence, you look up to find the cursor has moved to another part of the page & you are tying in the wrong place, middle of another paragraph etc. Bloody infuriating & googling the issue, it seems common going back to 2007. I hate the machine now, 3 weeks old & wish I had my ibm thinkpad back. Its as hard to write an email as doing it on a small phone. Not as it should be. Do not want.PS, before someone tells me its because my thumbs hover over the pad, it isn't.I'm highly dexterous, have had 5 laptops in 10 years & even use the finger toggle on an ibm with great effeciancy. Its not me doing it, its just not reliable
I have had my sony vaio for half a year now and never experienced any problems with it. It is the fastest running laptop i have ever had. As a university student i use the sony vaio every day and really put it through the works storing a lot of work on it and down loading even more files from the internet. It has no problems carrying out these functions. Its battery life is longer than most laptops and doesnt take long to charge. For people who like to just chill on their laptop and take a break from work there are many fun games on it to mess about with. When you first buy the laptop it is so easy to set up and link to the internet etc. It is well worth the money and i would strongly recommend this to anyone who needs a really good laptop for work and to store a lot of their files.
After purchasing my first Sony Vaio in 2003, it took me through university (many late nights of essay writing, playing games) and through to the world of work. When this great laptop finally lost its life 3 months ago (due to me spilling the 100th glass of wine on it!) it was time to purchase a new one. After having such a reliable time of 6 years with the last Sony Vaio I thought this is the only type to buy again. I purchased Sony VAIO NS30E Pink Laptop . I bought this online and it arrived within 7 days very prompt. Part of my job involves me travelling to London and this laptop is light enough and portable enough to carry in my handbag and work with on the train. Being pink it is bright and fun. The screen is 15.4" which is large enough for completing work assignments, watching DVDs and surfing the net. The picture is sharp and bright with an x-black LCD. One of the best things about this laptop is the built in camera and mic which means ease when using video conferencing. There are 4 usb ports to connect multiple devices with ease. Creating home movies is easy as well using the Vaio movie story software and Vaio music box is great too. Also with all Sony Vaio you can join the online club keeping up to date with all the latest new gadgets and there is also online support. This laptop becomes wireless with a switch of a button it. Another great thing about this laptop is that it is compatible with other Sony products. I can put the memory card from my Sony digital camera straight in to the memory card slot rather than using an usb cable. There is also an SD card slot. The only downside to this laptop is the battery life however i have not found a high performance laptop with a brilliant battery life. Overall I would recommend this to existing Sony users and anyone looking for a good value laptop that is durable, fashionable and is easy to use.
