I bought this dam laptop back in 2007 and late 2010 the Graphics card blown up due to cooling problems. For the normal consumer the laptop the ventilation system will clog up badly on air inlet and if this isn't cleaned out I can guarantee that your cooling system will fail and your NVidia graphics card will fry up.Also this laptop is designed for Windows Vista or XP..not Windows 7. The drivers will work with Windows 7 but lots of things are very broken including the bluetooth and memory card drivers. Windows Vista runs sweet on here..until you run all the updates online then its an absolute slug.I would avoid buying this laptop at all costs and buy something better because if this breaks you will have to ring up SONY which costs £1.50 a minute on their premium helpline.
I bought this laptop new on ebay for £500 almost a year ago. I previously had a Dell D400, and Asus W7 and a Toshiba R400 Tablet.
I bought this laptop because after looking at the specs, thought it matched my requirements. I needed a laptop that was small enough for me to take out of the house to uni, but not too small that I'd struggle seeing the screen. I also needed a laptop that was capable of playing recent games at medium settings
This laptop has a 13.3 inch screen so matched my size requirements. However its very hard to get a laptop this size with a good graphics card. This laptop has 2!! It has an integrated Intel graphics card like most laptop for internet browsing and word processing. However it also has an nVidia G8400M graphics card for gaming. To switch from one to the other, you need to restart though. The graphics card is very capable and I have no problem playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Crysis and Flight Simulator X on it at reasonable levels of detail and resolution.
