Advantages: Ultra light weight
Disadvantages: very pricey, low storage capacity, intel atom fails to deliver
It has a carbon fibre body which embraces in it , which is a little more than half an inch ,11.1 inch screen and weighs only 1.6 pound. Its that light. It was actually trying to fly out of my hands when i accidentally opened it while walking on the street. It makes 2.5-pound net-books feel heavy. It makes the 3-pound MacBook Air seem like a dumbbell.
This computer comes with in-built modem for Verizon Wireless' cellular broadband network. The last time i checked the service tariff was some $60 or so per month.
The Vaio X fairs pretty well on the battery longitivity part. On battery power, this thing went upto 1 hr and 30 while playing high defination video nonstop and browsing the web through a Wi-fi hotspot. Fairly it gives around 3 hours of use, pretty alright.
It has an Intel Atom processor, which being small and doesnt heat the system. So Vaio X doesnt haev a big ventilation fan to suck away the heat out. Another unique feature is its SSD or "solid-state disk", made of flash memory chips that don't haev moving parts. Neat .
While all these may excite you, the Vaio X has a fair share of drawbacks. First being it low SSD. Only 64 Gb storage. Running the Windows 7 is sure to suck life out of it.
Summary: It can be used a back-up for Desktop
