Upon purchasing this laptop about a week ago i found myself returning it to the shop already because of a fault in the computer which prevented me from switching it on, returning it to the store i was told by the store supervisor that the battery had malfunctioned (basically it had overheated and became useless). There and then i was given a new battery for my new laptop and had it checked there and then in the store. I was told it was a one off situation and was not likely to happen again but i would definitely recommend purchasing an extension on the 6 month warranty for the battery as it seems quite sensible to do so, just as i have.
