Advantages: A great laptop with a full range of features

Disadvantages: Start up takes a while

This laptop is simply fantastic! Since I received it back in December 2008, I have had absolutely no problems with it. Upon opening the box, there is a large manual in most common languages, a power adapter with UK plug and the laptop itself. I am not going to list the tech spec as this is available elsewhere.

Upon startup for the first time, the computer will install Windows Vista itself. All you have to do is switch the mahcine on once connected to mains power and click install. How easy is that?!

Once the operating system is installed the computer will start up and this is where the only problem with this mahcine lies - it takes ages to start up! I am unsure whether this is due to Windows Vista, as this is the only Vista machine I have used, or whether this is just the laptop itself.

The laptop along with operating system comes with some Toshiba software for running the webcam and creating recovery discs etc. I suggest you create the recovery discs sooner rather than later as this will be your only way to restore the computer to factory settings.

The laptop seems to be very powerful and can cope with large multitasking including writing DVDs, browsing the internet and using graphics software at the same time. At no point has the system bogged down dramatically due to over exertion of the processor and memory.

The laptop is host to some pretty impressibe harman/kardon speakers, well for a laptop. The sound is tinny as expected but compared to most laptops, is rather good! The battery does not take long to charge and the computer will last for 2-3 hours depending on usage demands and screen brightness. I have the brightness set at minimum when on battery power to extend life.

The screen quality is brilliant, both pictures and movies are displayed perfectly. In fact I use it quite a bit for different DVDs.

The laptop is not particularly heavy so makes transport very easy and comfortable when placed in a suitable bag. In my opinion this is a fantastic laptop and you can't go far wrong with it.
