The Toshiba L40 seems to come in a variety of different models, each with different specs within the same outer casing. I have what seems to be the lowest end model, which on paper is just about good enough to run Windows Vista. It has an inbuilt CD/DVD player and write drive and is wi-fi enabled. On the downside, the keyboard has almost worn out (though I am a very heavy user!). One major disadvantage of this model compared to others in the Toshiba range is that it doesn t have an external volume control - this ...

(cost £380). The Laptop came with 1gb of ram and had windows vista home premium installed. Had to install an additional 1gb ram as it ran painfully slow. The extra 1gb of ram made all of the difference and I would recommend anyone who has one of these to do the same. Has got 3 USB ports which is pretty much standard these days. ...
