im sat here using someone else s laptop as less than 2 months later it is back in the shop again as it started over heating. Toshiba claim it has a software problem and i had to go onto there website and download something, the girl in the shop looked as flabergasted as me when we were told this over the phone by the techno guys! Anyway, iv left it with her to fix as she new i did nt have a clue what they were talking about and she did say she had no idea how some software would fix the over heating but............... I shall wait and see what she come s back with and report it if and when it gets ...

I owned one of thes for 17 hours !!!! There were several modles within this range of Toshiba notebooks, depending on what one you went for you got either AMD or Intel CPU s and the graphics card and ram also differed. Depending on your budget all models within this range were quite well priced with the top speced machine reatiling at around £600. I wont go on about the graphics card or CPU as they differed so much within the range. I just thought it important to point out the biggest flaw with all the machines regaurdless of spec within this particular modle range. Toshiba Satellite M40X

Graphically out dated now for any form of game use (it has no 3d accelerator) but beyond that this the Laptop has served me well for three years and is a great media player and office laptop, i m currently typing on it now. Durability: Of all the laptops I have tried and tested (except bullet proof ones) this has to come in top of the class. It has taken countless amounts of abuse from me from being dropped down stone stair cases on several occasions, scratched to death in my bag and constantly being picked up by the screen. yet to date the only problems despite all this abuse over three years are a very loose hinge on the screen, a green line up the right hand side ...
