Seeing as I'm a regular Toshiba customer (I've owned 3 Toshiba laptops including this one aswell as my Samsung N130) I thought that after my P300D I would upgrade to something a bit more upclass in terms of laptop statistics so I went for this. I got the laptop around a week after ordering so was frantic to opem it up when it came. Setup was smooth and quick and I let the battery gain a few hours charge before use. When I fired it up for the first time it ran faster than a dog on heat, speeding through all tasks and processes, and to this day it still does, the 2GB RAM keeps it running quickly and effectively. The 160GB HDD is just about right for me as I do not need a lot of room on a laptop as I keep all songs/movies on my desktop. Therefore this hard drive only ever saw word documents or the occassional photo album. Although a good speed overall, the speed deteriates when being bombarded with more than 4 tasks which can sometimes be frustratiing seeing as a 2GB RAM should be able to handle it. The DVD burner on there is great, just like all other features on there :)
this laptop will never slow down if you are just using it to do normal tasks it will work just find becuase of its 2GB of ram this is the max i have seen in a laptop the CPU is not the best but it is nicly helped with the ram is has a DVD burner that can burn any blank dvds this is inportant becuase there used to be mix up on what format the dvd was this can do both +/- and fromn what i no that mean you can save a couple of quid buys dvd - r blanks
