I brought the Toshiba Satellite Laptop (model number L750) in May 2012. I brought the laptop through littlewoods catalogue for £499.
I mainly use this laptop for social use (to check facebook, read emails, to make skype calls etc).
Look and feel, ease of use and range of extra features
The main reason I brought this laptop was because of the lovely bright red colour and because it had a 15.6" display.
The colour of the laptop is modena red with matrix pattern and the keyboard is black.
The dimensions of the laptop is 38 cm (width) x 25 cm (depth) x 3.8 cm (height). The laptop has an integrated webcam which is of excellent quality. Extra features that the laptop has, includes "toshiba face recognition" which can let you log in without the requirement of a password.
The laptop also has a "toshiba eco utility option" which helps to reduce power consumption.
The Toshiba Satellite Laptop (model number L750) has three usb 2.0 ports and also has a usb sleep and charge option. The laptop has one HDMI port.
I often connect the laptop to the TV using a HDMI cable and the laptop functions very well.Obviously the HDMI cable is not included with the laptop but I managed to buy a HDMI cable from poundland the other day.
The optical drive includes DVD±RW, and I have used the laptop to watch DVD's and create music CD's and I have faced no problems when creating DVD's.
The laptop has LED backlight. The laptop has Onkyo stereo speakers and a built in microphone which are of excellent quality.
Speed, memory and capacity
The battery can last up to 5.5 hours and I have found that the battery lasts very long compared to other laptops that I have owned in the past. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). The memory is 6 GB (DDR3). The hard drive is 640 GB HDD / 5400 rpm.
Comfort, portability, robustness and durability
The laptop is very light to carry around and the laptop only weighs 2.5kg. The manufacturer offers 1 year warranty.
I have been very pleased about buying the Toshiba Satellite Laptop (model number L750), however there has been a recent issue with the "laptop overheating / cooling error message" appearing once a week and I have not called Toshiba yet but will do after the new year as the laptop messages has been advising to return the laptop to the supplier for service. To resolve the issue, I re-stored the factory settings and the messages have stopped, however if it happen again I will be calling Toshiba. Overall, I think this is otherwise, a very good laptop and is a very good looking laptop to carry around and as it is red in colour, you don't have to search for it as it is bright and you are able to spot it straight away in any room.
