When I started my new IT job about 2 years ago, I was given a Toshiba Satellite P200-156 to use for everyday on-site work. In those two years the only problems I have had was with the preloaded VISTA OS, but since I have upgraded to Windows 7 things just zing along fine.
The 17.1" screen is perfect for keeping several windows open at the same time and of course for watching movies (though not at work, of course!). There is a handy set of media controls just under the screen so it is easy to start, pause, forward and rewind any music and videos.
After two years there is still no problems with physical side of things, no sticky keys or the loss of sensitivity in the touch mouse pad, I recently cleaned up the keys and it looks like a new laptop again.
Like all modern laptops, this comes with everything you would expect, CD/DVD writer, 2GB RAM, 250GB Hard disk, 2 GHz dual processor, built in wireless etc etc (I guess if you are reading this review you have already checked out the spec, so I don't need to list everything).
The only issues I have with this laptop is the weight, which is quite heavy and bulky, defiantly not the lightweight machine you can just throw in your bag. Also I have found it can get very hot while sat on your lap, you must be careful not to block the air vents with your legs. Finally, the battery life has deteriorated over the two years and i now only get about an hour and half before having to recharge.
A good sound reliable laptop; just make sure you can cope with the weight.
With the Satellite P200, you've more than set yourself apart from the crowd. This eye-catching Onyx Blue Metallic laptop, powered by Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, has been redesigned with new half-pipe casing and Toshiba imprint on the lid. The 17" diagonal widescreen TruBrite display (WXGA+) and Harman/Kardon speakers will enhance your multimedia experience with a bright, crisp picture and premium sound. Use the built-in webcam to capture the sights during live chats, as you stay in touch with loved ones, using next generation high-speed wireless (802.11a/g/n), found on select models. Toshiba's DVD SuperMulti drive, now with Labelflash printing technology, let's you burn high quality labels directly onto Labelflash media. Connecting peripherals is also easier with 4 USB ports, placed on either side of the notebook, with an i.LINK IEEE-1394 port for large volumes of data on the back.
