Advantages: Easy to use and very endurable memory.

Disadvantages: The keyboard and charger broke before 18 months.

This laptop was brought for me around 18 months ago and I found it very easy to use. It set up very quickly (although it didn't come with Microsoft office/works, but this is more to with the package than with Toshiba). I believe that it cost around £300 at time of purchase and came with a warrenty. It also came with Windows Vista Premium package and was therefore like many other laptops that I am used to using.

The design of the laptop is quite standard, however the keypad blends in with the athestics giving it a very sleek appearance. Although I would have liked to have had a white laptop the colour still looks sleek and professional.

Having just a 1GB RAM I thought that it would become very slow very quickly, however I have downloaded many applications, software, video/music etc... and I also run my itunes and iPod from the laptop and also being a University student, I have an awful lot of documents including high quality photographs, and it still functions very quickly. It occasionally freezes and I have to restart it, however I usually leave it in sleep mode for weeks at a time and therefore this could be overheating problems. However some of the features are quite basic.

All the software and internal functions of the laptop are very good, but I found problems with my keyboard. It began to stick and the only way to stop the "H" key from typing constantly was to pull it off. This then happened with further keys including the space bar, which obviously caused problems when trying to type up essays. I now have to use a detachable keyboard.

Also the charger for my laptop stopped working (and it wasn't the fuse in the plug either), I then had to purchase a new charger for around £45. However when the battery is unplugged the laptop lasts for about 3 hours and that includes watching television.

I think this laptop is good for occasional use (maybe once a day) however I spend upto 8 - 10 hours a day using my laptop (as many students do) and I think the problems that I have encountered are to do with this.

I still think it was great value for money and would buy a Toshiba again.

Summary: Not suitable for heavy use (more than 8 hours a day)
