Rating:
This was my first ever laptop and it s good value for money. Before buying, I spoke to someone I know who repairs laptops and he told me Toshiba is the one brand he never sees being returned, which encouraged me. There are not a lot of features although it does come with the Premium Home Vista as opposed to the Basic which some laptops in the same price bracket come with. I did have some trouble downloading Flash Player and MSN Messenger but I got there in the end and to be honest, I do not know if it is because I had never tried to do it before or the errors on the computer were because of an error beyond my control. Battery life is appalling, about an hour if you do ...

I m going to get straight to the point: what went wrong? I now have a lovely Macbook that works, but my previous Laptop - the A60 - was absolutely the most awful laptop in the world. The noise was created by a fan that is supposed to cool a powerful processor - note that the machine was still far too hot to have on my lap. The power, however, never really came. You opened Word 2003 and it would launch about a minute later - pretty slow. Try ...

less bothered about the weight of the machine and make it much more like the normal home system that the desktop has catered for in the past! Enter the Toshiba Satellite Pro A30. I hate to admit it, but the main thing that drew me to this model in the shop was the fact that its case is metallic dark blue. It really did stand out from the rest and I think it is a very classy looking machine. At the time I bought it, the RRP was about £1200 however Curries were selling it for £1000, so it looked even better value next to similar spec machines which were generally about £150 above the RRP. The best price online at the moment is about £985 so it has come down a bit since ...
