I bought this laptop after the screen went on my Sony Vaio. I spent £1100 on the previous one and it was crocked plus it had a broken hinge. So I looked for a new 'lowish end 'one in case it didn't last.

Overall the laptop feels good and works well. I had it upgraded to 1 GB RAM which I am glad of as it is using MS Vista and I think 1GB is the lowest that works at all well. The screen is good and keypad feels right (better than the Viao for my part).

The lid has agood amount of friction which allows it to open fairly easily but stay exactly where you put it.

Thus far (about 9 months of use) it has workd faultlessly and save it beeing a lttle slower than my old Viao (which may well be a Vista reason) I am very satisfied with my purchase. I knew Toshiba had a reputation for being robust and this laptop seems to live up to the reputation. My only quibble is I only get about 55 mintes - 1 hour from the battery!
