I was bought this laptop as a present and i have not been disappointed. It is very easy to start up and for a first time laptop user i was a little apprehensive about things like battery life and other problems. The battery lasts a good 2:30 to 3 hours which give long enough to do what ever needs doing without worrying about it shutting down. I have had this laptop for a few years and have been able to install and run everything that has come my way.
The laptop is not to heavy so if you have it resting on your legs it wont make you feel like there is a boulder resting there, and unlike some other laptops it doesn't burn your legs with the fan over heating.
All in all i would say this is a great starters piece of equipment and does what it says on the box and a little bit more.
The laptop has a 15.6" widescreen and comes with windows 7 as standard, it runs most games with ease but i wouldn't advise trying to run to many applications at once as it only has a 2gb ram. You can pick one up for around £300 and as far as the other laptops in the same price bracket go i think this is one of the better options.
I bought this purely to do work on for my university studies, however what it offered and what actually came were to very different things. The advantages of this laptop is that it doesnt take a genius to use it, its simple straight forward and easy to use although the battery life is slightly shorter than expected or wanted. This Disadvantages started when just 3 months down the line I hit problems with it. It started with blank screens and taking the whole of 30 mins to start up, it was a nightmare! So after talking to the technical team and having 2 discs posted to me to which i had to completly reboot the laptop i thought everything would be fine and dandy. I was sadly mistaken. Less than a year down the line and the hard disk is now going, another costly error to add to the list of problems with this laptop. Its definitly worth splashing the cash and investing in a laptop that will last, especially if its important to your work or studies. I was very disapointed with this laptop.
extremely slow, feel like smashing it up. do not buy one, my sisters got one and thats just the same, even when tou go into your documents it wont respond for 15 seconds then it will, but wen you click on something else its the same story.
I bought this laptop from currys about 6months ago. It cost £330 on offer and io thought that was the best laptop for the price in currys.
At first when i got it i was unsure i would like it, but after setting it up finally i started changin my mind a bit.
I mainly use the laptop for looking at the internet and playin dvds on, id recommed it for these tasks but i dont think it would be fast enough for a work laptop because it does become slow when you ve got serval internet programes running.
The battery doesnt last that long... about 1.5 hours at the most before you need to plug it in.
The graphics are good and clear on the screen and still look great when watching dvds! Even though its a 15inch screen.
This laptop has all the features that a basic user like me needs. I would remoomed this laptop as i first laptop or someone who just looks on the internet with it.
I received this laptop Toshiba laptop two Christmases ago and was very pleased with it, that is until I found out it had Windows Vista installed on it. I would have preferred XP over vista.
250GB Hard Drive
16 inch monitor
The design of this laptop is very good, but not that modern; its more the classic does what it says on the tin kind of laptop. When the top is closed, it locks into place with the use of two small clips either side. This is useful because my previous laptop did not have these and when it was getting old, if it were held upside-down would fling open.
The keyboard has the minimal amount of keys, due to the size of the laptop. There is no extra number keyboard to the right like larger laptops; this can be annoying having to do a lot of hand movement when typing in large numbers. However, the keys the laptop does have are quite a good size making it easy to type with.
I would prefer the mouse pad to be a little larger and maybe to not be sunk into the laptop as it is very hard to clean. I would have preferred the right and left hand button to be a little larger too.
I also think the speakers are not very large, and do not go very loud. To improve the laptop, better quality speakers are needed; however, I don't use them very often so are not too troubled by this.
Recently, I have started to have a few problems with this laptop and I do not know why. It takes sometimes up to 10 minutes to load (vista is slow at processing anyway, so it normally takes a couple of minutes), keeps freezing and becomes slow if I have a few programs open at the same time. I have scanned the laptop a number of times, with a number of internet security programs, and they found nothing wrong with the laptop. I also do not have many files on my laptop as I used to keep all my college work on a memory stick. Therefore, I am going to take it to a computer specialist as I think the motherboard may be starting to lose life.
Overall, I do think this laptop is of a good standard for what I have needed. And for £350, it is a good deal, however, if there is something wrong with the hardware of the laptop I will be very disappointed as it has not lasted long.
DONT TOUCH THIS WITH A BARGEPOLE! I truly am bemused at the lack of quality this has produced. I bought this solely to do work on it and enjoy the delights it promised me. What i found was completely contrary to what i needed. I needed something that could run several programs on and i was assured by the shop i bought it from that i would be able to run things smoothly and have fast downloads and all the usual jargon the decide to tell me even if i didnt ask for it. So off i go to my study area and load it all up which i must admit was quicker than expected but when it came to downloading a program or having several things open to do different work on, it froze or did not respond for at least ten minutes! This laptop is worse than my old one because at least my old one crashed but recovered the programs rather than deleting them. Im actually still tempted to go back to using my old one which although got incinerated, probably still works faster than this. Having one program open it works brilliantly but if you open more than one and even dare to do any work, it cannot cope! Im not really good with computer technology but i dont recommend this to anyone that goes to Uni or college.
