Common fault on Toshiba laptops is the DC input for mains connection gets broken inside, so you have to open it up and glue it back in place so you can use the laptop from the mains connection (wall outlet) or to charge the battery etc. When the connection for mains connection went loose inside I hadto take it to a shop and had problems with hard drive after, then got it recoeverd... may not have been the laptop, but wouldn't have happened if it didn't need opening to fix, after 10 months from new.I personally would never look at an AMD processor... this particular one is very slow from new.... got the laptop free and still thought it was crap I would give this away if I never had so many personal videos on it!
People, do not buy this computer! It is a load of s**t. It is slow and loud, flash games don't even run smoothly, it over-heats incessantly, it has a load of weird Toshiba programs which don't work and just slow it down more, and the mouse is unresponsive. The webcam is crap, the microphone is crap, and the keys which have alternate functions only sometimes work. I got upgraded ram for this and it still is crap. It never played 720p Youtube videos with a decent framerate and now it can barely play 480p. Steer clear of this piece of s**t. Honestly it is the biggest waste of money. I now hate Toshiba for actually manufacturing this piece of filth and selling it to unsuspecting consumers, so now I am never going to purchase anything from it again, and you probably shouldn't because it isn't trusworthy. I am not even going to mention the good features of the laptop because, without a shadow of a doubt, they don't even come close to outweighing the flaws. Honestly, don't even spend another minute looking at this computer.
I didn't think a computer could be this bad! But thanks to Toshiba I've just wasted £380 on this useless piece of S**T. Save your money and buy a laptop worhty of your hard earned cash.
We bought it just to use for Skype and emails for a man who was bedridden but wanted to keep in touch with his family overseas.
It was painfully slow - to the point we thought, maybe there was something wrong with it. Could it be that the processor and the 1 GB Ram could not cope with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit???
The webcam and microphone with speakers are an added bonus of course. Not to mention the price, which is really very attractive compared with other laptops. However we would be interested to hear from others about the speed of the thing. One might say, you get what you pay for. The multicard reader is another bonus again. Whatever money saved could now be spent on increasing the Ram to make it grind faster I hope.
It took me a whole day to install and make recovery disks.
However, the screen is nice, wide and clear and the speakers have a good sound quality.
