Also known as EQUIUM, for it's Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz/2048MB/160GB/ DVDRW including Vista home premium operating system. The best bit about this laptop is the 13.3 " | Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA TFT High Brightness display.
The display screen quality is fantastic, because of the vividness of its picture quality and images. Weight is 1.9Kg, and isn't in fact that bad. I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. I carry it pretty much everywhere, and because it's not the usual notebook laptop it is wonderful for just having it on your laptop because of it's weight and how easily it works.
The laptop comes with an integrated 1.3 MP Webcam and microphone. The Webcam software is so easy to use, as it slides on the left side of the desktop, everytime you start up the laptop and you happen to roll your mouse to that side.
Nothing lags on this laptop, as there isn't any major software installed. It comes with the basics; Office and Works plus, the Office Works CD is available.
The additional features are those provided by Toshiba itself, like the DVD player and DVD Movie Maker. Oh yeah, without forgetting the Norton Internet Security, as additional security.
It contains Wireless=WLAN WiFi 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth capabilities, and has three major usb ports handy, alongside two ethernet cable sockets. These are quite useful, but I even think an additional cable socket wouldn't go a-miss.
It's a very useful laptop, for those on the move because of it's light features and it's weight.
I've had it now for a year and a half, and I have not yet received any trouble. I can gladly say it's definetly worth it's money, even if now it's a lot cheaper than I once bought it for.
The Toshiba Satellite U300-114 is a top of the range laptop computer. The usual high quality that can be expected from a Toshiba product applies here. Bought this to replace my old Toshiba Satellite pro that packed in after about four and a half years. The upgrade is amazing, Intel Centrino core duo, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB hard drive. Also has a DVD writer, very handy for backing up photos ect. My only complaint is Windows Vista, its the bowels of the earth and worse, of course that is not Toshiba's fault. My advice - try to get one with Windows XP on it! I really went for this laptop because of its compactness and it is very lightweight compared to my old one. The mouse buttons are smoother and easier to operate, they seemed to be very labour intensive on older Satellite models. Neat screen size, 3 USB ports. Very easy to insert more RAM, just unscrew the flap on the base of the laptop and push in. Highly recommended, you get the usual Toshiba support system, which to be fair I've never required.
