Advantages: Fast, good battery, large memory, reliable, finger print recognition, bluetooth, wireless, has XP

Disadvantages: Slightly chunky, only 3 USB ports

This laptop was bought for me to go to university, and it does a very good job.
When it was first turned on it was very fast, and had everything set up ready for me. Initially I thought it was quite loud, but I don't notice that anymore. In the six months I have had it I have been very impressed, both by its speed, despite having a lot of music and some DVDs on it, and reliability.
The only issues I have is that if I attempt to open internet explorer before the network has connected when the computer is turning on (ie. being impatient) the computer refuses to load any programs for a few minutes. This has been solved by waiting an extra 10 seconds for the network to connect! The laptop also has only 3 USB ports, but I solved this with a USB hub from poundland.
The laptop works the way any XP laptop would, and is good for word processing, internet browsing, listening to music and watching DVDs.
The laptop has a good processor, and lots of memory, so can cope with multiple programs and games being opened at the same time.
The battery life of the laptop is very good, and easily lasts longer than any of my flat-mates laptops.
The laptop is slightly chunkier and heavier than others, but feels very well made - one example of this is that the screen doesn't ripple when pressed at the back like others do.
The screen is widescreen, 15.4 inches, and doesn't get the imprints of the keyboard, which I have seen on several other laptops.
For gaming the laptop is good due to its speed, but the video card doesn't support some higher spec games, so its worth checking. All but one game have worked, even very memory intensive games such as Flight Simulator 2004 have worked, only Battlefield 2 hasn't worked.
The laptop has several very handy features, including memory card readers, wireless, bluetooth, and finger print recognition.
The bluetooth and finger print recognition mean that logging on is very easy, with it being able to log in by recognising your finger prints, or your bluetooth phone withing a certain distance, both, or of course with a password.
The bluetooth also works with phones so I can send photos, videos and music to and from my phone.

Summary: Worth getting unless you are into gaming
