Toshiba Tecra A9 ... ports, but I solved this with a USB hub from poundland. The laptop works the way any XP laptop would, and is good for word processing, internet browsing, listening to music and watching DVDs. The laptop has a good processor, and lots of memory, so can cope with multiple programs and games being opened at the same time. The battery life of the laptop is very good, and easily lasts longer than any of my flat-mates laptops. The laptop is slightly chunkier and heavier than others, but feels very well made - one example of this is that the screen doesn't ripple when pressed at the back like others do. Toshiba Satellite Pro U300 ... respond all that well either. However a solution may be to upgrade the ram. Though this can be very expensive to do, it is a solution to the slow speed problems and if you choose to do so, you will be able to upgrade the laptop to a maximum of 4 gb of ram, which would really improve the laptops speed dramatically. Its nice however to see this laptop with quite a big hard drive. I would first think, if a laptop only had 1 gb of ram, that it would only have an 80 gb hard drive. However it doesn't, it actually has 120 gb hard drive which is something you'd would expect to see in a laptop with 2 gb of ram, so this is a nice surprise and will defiantly be enough storage ... Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 ... to keep the noise levels down when you are using a CD, a handy touchpad utility which brings up a menu featuring your documents, desktop or internet favourites depending on where you press and speaker management software for the SRS WOW sound. Also preloaded is a copy of Microsoft OneNote 2003. We have installed a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 on the laptop which it runs well. The screen is perfect for viewing spreadsheets and word documents. Performance wise all aspects of the Office software run well but you can sometimes get minor delays in opening the programs the first time if you have just booted the machine.
