Toshiba Satellite L350-145 ... ve had this computer for a few days now and I think it is great. Very simple to use, programmes and applications run quickly and smoothly, and it s also very attractive! However, it does take quite some time to load up when you turn it on (around 1 minute 30, which is actually a long time when you are watching a blue screen waiting for something to happen!). Battery life is around two hours, which is the same as most other laptops, I think. Good quality screen, and the webcam is excellent. The computer comes with Microsoft Works already installed, along with a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office, but I personally feel that Works is sufficient enough anyway. I compared man... Toshiba A200-195 ... around the net for quite a while before deciding on this one. The main decision factors were it s good specs, looks and, very important, the low price. This one came for about £400, the Asus had cost me almost £1000 Aesthetically it is a very eye catching machine, with its silver keyboard frame and grayish keyboard, the shiny screen and the midnight blue screen top boasting a shiny silver Toshiba logo. This is not without its problems since it catches finger prints like a magnet and it always looks dirty... Girlfriend s mum ( GM ) was interested in surfing the net and sending e-mails, but was not interested in heavy duty applications such as photo manipulation software or games. A medium range computer would therefore be suitable for her needs. She would, however, need a good sized, clear LCD screen. A search on the Dabs.com website revealed several possible choices, but the Toshiba L300-292 caught my eye. This machine comes with a relatively powerful mobile processor (2GHz), together with 2Gb of RAM (the sensible minimum for running Windows Vista).
