Brother's unique color Advanced Photoscale Technology (CAPT) smoothes edges and enhances image quality, providing the HL-2400C with 2,400dpi class printing. It also uses enhanced memory management technology which compresses the image and creates an even faster throughput.

The HL-2400C is one of the first desktop laser printers to print full color at 4ppm - the fastest performance in its class, thanks in part, to its SPARClite processor. Monochrome is at 16ppm, the latter speed out-pacing most office mono printers. Transparencies can be created at 2ppm (full-color) and 8ppm (Mono). Thanks to the HL-2400C's long-lasting toner cartridges, per-page costs when printing black only are comparable to those of an ordinary mono laser printer and the overall cost per page is much lower than that of color inkjet printers. In addition, Intelligent Sleep Mode, manual duplex, Poster printing, "2 in 1" and "4 in 1" printing capabilities, offer even further economies, particularly for draft printing.
