Advantages: Fast printing, good quality prints, good size
Disadvantages: Quite noisy, especially during fast printing
We have some of these printers at school so i know quite alot about them.
They have a good design, simple square and compact and would fit into any home, office or school. It has a paper draw at the base which holds up to 250 sheets of A4 paper. This is easily pulled open by pulling on the handle. On the front of the draw is a little indicator which gives an idea of how full the draw is of paper so you don't have to keep opening the draw to see how full it is.
Above this is a pull down tray which is a multi purpose tray for things like envelopes and any other paper. There is a slide to fit the correct size of paper so it is not taken in angled.
Behind this cover is a larger cover which is where the drum and toner is. This cover is opened by pressing down the button on top and pulling the cover open. The toner is easy to get to, and is easy to pull out and put in.
On the top of the machine is the output tray which can hold up to 250 sheets of paper and there is a small tray that opens to stop paper sliding off the top.
To the left is the control panel. Well its two buttons and four lights. It is so simple to use and understand. There is a Go button to press when you have just put in new paper, or hold it down when you want to re print the last job printer. There is also a cancel job button. This stops the current job being printed. Then there are four LEDs. One is a 3-colour light which shows green for ready and flashing green for warming up, orange for printing and red for some sort of error, or toner cover is open. The other three lights are for paper, toner and drum. They show when the paper tray is empty, the toner is low or empty or when the drum life has ended.
If you want to print on think media like card etc that you don't want to bend, then there is a cover on the back that you can open to allow paper to come out there instead on the top tray. To do straight path you put the media in the front multi purpose tray and open the cover at the back and the paper will automatically be fed out here rather than curving it to come out the top tray.
The power switch is on the right hand side.
On the back is a USB and parallel port for easy connection and the power port.
This printer prints at good speeds of 20ppm and has quick warm up times.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good mono printer either for a home, small or large office or a school as it will suit any environment.
Summary: Good printer with good quality output
