Brother HL 1450: ... the memory doesn t like an A4 photo. If you try to print a large picture at 1200 dpi it makes no difference to the quality so don t waste your toner. 	Brother HL 1230 ... have now owned three different Brother Laser printers and I have certainly never regretted the day I obtained my HL-1230. I find it good for small and medium size jobs, while I have used an HP4 for my large jobs. (Maybe more on another review later for the HP.) Overall, great for jobs other than high volume office use as it is not super fast normally putting out about 10-12 pages per minute depending on what you are printing. This is the average for the high quality (600x600dpi). You can print photo details, but alas not in colour. The quality of the print can be varied to safe on toner which overall is not cheap. 	Brother HL 5150D ... bought this printer around a year ago and have had very good service from it. It is connected to our SuSE Linux server as a USB peripheral and can be accessed by all of our MS Windows machines as a shared printer (PPD file was installed locally on each machine - pretty much a standard printer setup). 	Brother HL 1440 ... Brother HL-1440 Laser printer is an excellent printer for personal or business use. Printing is fast and sharp. Installation under Windows XP is as easy as plugging the printer in. Windows XP has native drivers for this printer so it instantly recognizes the printer and installs it. You will have more problems unwrapping the printer than you will have setting it up. I have however run into a few problems with software applications along the way. If you are planning on running this laser printer under Windows XP and you happen to run Microsoft MapPoint, or Visual Manufacturing, you are going to run into problems.
