I don't own this personally, but we use it all the time at work! I've been working in the office most days over the past few months and this printer has been my company over this time period. The let down I guess would be the size. It's a monster of a printer, but having said that i've seen alot bigger! We upgraded from I think it was called something like a DELL 1800? I think thats the name, i may have it completely wrong though.. Anyway we needed something that had the power to print off large amounts of work and to not have to replace the ink every couple of days. I have no idea of the statistics this printer had till now and it says it can hold 700 pieces of paper? It must be right because it seems to have a never ending supply in here and I hardly ever have to replace the paper! The worst part of printers is having to have stacks of paper to one side so this cuts it down.. and little!!
We print all sorts of documents on this printer such as invoices. It's great because they come out so fast and I guess the quality is good, i've never checked! So no complaints!! However we do use this to test out photography images on print. We usually deal with 300 dpi images but this printer has an allowance that not alot of others can match. Your hardly EVER find a printer that can print over this, or even around it sometimes so i give 5 stars to dell!
The images quality is always great and the colours always seem to pop out! It's great for professional and personal use and I've thought about buying one for myself actually as I seem to print off more and more everyday. This printer also has quite a small gutter (if you play around with the settings) so it really does give you the freedom to print out work how you want it to look, and not have to be tied down to certain settings.
We still have our 1 year service and so far we have not needed this in the slightest! It was super easy to set up and anyone can use it (and we have over 70s using this) It's the sort of printer thats an investment, it's alot to actually buy it but in the long term i really do think you could save alot of money!
The ink never seems to dry out and and the paper supply always seems to be endless! When we need to print something out fast it can do this and it prints large documents (as in lots of papers) so quickly! Before we used an HP printer and I think years and years ago these would have been the better choice (i still have an hp at home) Now though I really do think dell has caught up and they are in the lead!
If you want a reliable printer with fantastic quality then buy this! My manger did and it's been our saving grace!
