The Epson C4100 - Here's my review on it.
Hope you enjoy reading it and thanks.
------------------------------------------------
We have had one of these Epson c4100 in the office for just over a year now, and it has been amazing.
It probably one of the best buys our office has made in years!
Now,a couple of months ago we bought another to assist in the work load.
I've worked out that it can churn out 50 pretty average content pages in just under 5 minutes. now thats moving some!!
The slight down side of them is...the parts to replace them.
our first machine started wearing out parts about 6 months ago and had done well over 30,000 sheets.
the photoconductor was the most exensive part at about £300 from memory. The toners ranged from aprox £20 for the black one and up to about £100 for the colour ones. its not a cheap baby to run but well worth buying one.
We have bought extra trays for it aswell so it now has 3 full trays that will hold a full ream of paper and a paper feeder tray (MP Tray) that will hold about 30 sheets at once.
From your computer, all you have to do is remember what is in which tray!
With the extra trays under it, it sits on the floor, making it quieter aswell, and is about 2ft tall! just about desk height. so its no little printer!
One of the few downsides of the printer is that it wont do A3 size paper. A4 being the biggest it can take.
But it does do envelopes, again not the big A3 size ones, but the half A4 and quarter A4 size.
It can print on most paper types from thin 80grms to thick card.
It does say on the advert and brochure that it can do double sided printing, but we haven't found how to yet! but we do print double sided by putting it back through the feeder tray (MP Tray) it is advised not to do this as it wears the rollers out faster because ink gets on them from the other side of the paper, but it still did over 30,000 sheets on one set of rollers!
One recommendation a can say if you are to buy one of these printers is this:- Buy only laser paper for it!
We have Multi-function paper in it at the moment and we have had nothing but jams with it.
Even though the nice silky paper feels nice, unfortunately the printer isn't to keen on it!!
It is in a not-so-pretty grey colour, which sort of blends with the desks but is a little boring!
There is also only 1 exit route for the paper to come out of. Which, although sounds a silly thing to say, it quite important in this office as it's shared with 4 computers all facing different sides of the printer. Unfortunately it is stationed next to my desk so i have the thankless job of working out what printing is from what computer and having to twist in millions of directions to give it to them!!
Although handy for me, a nightmare at busy times.
You may wish to take this into consideration before you purchase one.
---------------------------------
All in all, a very good work horse that i can say will last you for many years to come.
It will be the best buy you make, as far as printers go!
Provided you have the need for it.
It is probably better suited for offices with loads of printing going all day but also a home office if you were looking for good print quality and clarity.
I hope this review has help you if you are in search of a new printer.
thank you for reading and please have a look at my other review also.
