Advantages: Small, compact, duplex printing

Disadvantages: Quite a high price tag to it.

This is the third laser printer I have owned in as many years and it has to be the best one so far. We have the 1320nw version.

I work from home running my own small business offering secretarial services so a good reliable laser printer was needed. We brought this about two years ago now for £456.81 which included a three year warranty package for on site repairs or replacements.

It has a built in duplex facility which I have only used a few times, but when I did it was good at what it did and never got caught up inside or printed incorrectly.

I use this printer everyday for basic text printing, letters and so on and for envelope printing. There is a manual slot at the front of the printer, under a small flap that allows you to feed through envelopes one at a time and have the address printed on them. I use this facility a lot and have never had any problems. I have also just completed a massive label run of 4000 addresses for a client and it printed every one completely smoothly, with no jams or anything. This is saying something for a label run!!

The paper tray holds 250 sheets at a time and they come out face down at the top of the printer.

I am not very computer minded so have copied the specifications of the machine from the internet in the hope that others will understand what they mean and they will be of some help:

Printer Speed Up to 22 ppm

Max Resolution: 1200 dpi (B/W)

Interface: 802.11b, 802.11g, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX, USB

I have replaced the toner cartridge twice since I have had it and this is a very easy process. Simply pull down the front flap and pull out the old toner. Replace with a new one and shut the flap. Easy Peasey. The toner cartridges themselves, as with all laser toners are quite pricey at around £60 each, however for me they do last a fair amount of time and if you give them a good shake over the bin when it gets low you will get quite a bit more out of it before having to change it.

The printer itself is an excellent size for working from home as it is not too big. The measurements are approx: 34cm wide by 25cm high by 33cm deep.

In my experience this has been good value for money, I am sorry if it is not very technical but I'm not a very technical person. However this just shows you that once this printer is set up, you do not need to know too much about computers to operate it. I would recommend this version.

Summary: Worth it for business at home
