Advantages: great print quality, really user friendly, quiet

Disadvantages: expensive to buy, expensive to run, takes up alot of space

I use one of these printers at work and am very impressed with it. The only printers I have experienced are colour inkjets and black lasers.

This printer takes up quite a bit of deskspace being quite tall and fairly wide - it is about twice the size of a mono laser printer.

The paper tray is easily accessible at the front bottom of the printer and the paper slips in under two clip easily.

On the front of the printer is an LCD screen which informs you of the status of your printer be it warming up, off, on, printing, the location of any jams and if paper is low or empty. This is useful as the printer can let you know where a jam is rather than you having to take it apart looking for that teeny bit of crumpled paper which is always well hidden!!!

The printer does take a few minutes to warm up especially if it hasn't been used for a while. The warming up is the noisiest part of a print cycle and is in all reality unnoticeable when you are working so no fear of disrupting office productivity.

The print quality is excellent with good colour likeness and a great glossy sheen to prints even on cheap office paper.

The major downsides of this product are the high initial cost and then the cost of replacing the ink when it runs out which runs into the hundreds of pounds mark even if you are buying cloned cartridges.

If a laser printer is what you need then I would really recommend this one - if you can afford it but if you can sacrifice some print quality you may find it cheaper in the long run to buy a top-end inkjet.
