The HP Laser Jet 1018 laser printer is by far one of the best budget black and white laser printers I have used. I print a lot of invoices for my business; all my paper work is done on this system as well.
My Inkjet was running out of ink all the time, I had tried cheaper ink cartridges and even those easy refill kits as well but as I always printer in black and white I had a look online to see what was available in the laser printer world.
I stumbled across the Hp 1018 laser printer on comets web-site and they had it on offer as well £99.00 with toner etc included, so 10 minutes later I was driving home with my new laser printer, I couldn't wait to get home to hook it all up to the pc and give it a job to do.
Well I have to admit the wait was not in vain, I plugged in the USB cable to the computer put the Install / drivers disk in the computer and switched the printer on. Within seconds the printer was all set up and ready to print a test page, which it did. No sooner had I pressed the print button had it already finished.
I print all day every day with this printer, roughly 100 pages of invoices and general waste each and every day and not once has the printer faltered.
It was incredibly easy to setup and install, the toner is the same one I got with it and a year later it's still going strong print tones still very deep and sharp.
The printer is also tiny; it fits neatly where my old bulky inkjet would not, and at a very slim 5kg its very light too.
Some technical spec for those who know what it all means.

If you can get this printer at a very good price then take it, I wont be changing for a very long time. In fact ill probably still be on the same toner cartridge by the time I come to upgrade to a newer model.
This is a highly Recommended printer.
Summary: excellent printer with no real downsides i can think of.

- 20/01/09 I doubt that! Even toner cartridges don't last forever. Have you checked out the price of refills? |
