This laserjet is more suited as an office printer for a small number of people or a home printer for someone who works from home rather than just as a home printer. The main reason behind this is because it is monochrome and is therefore not capable of printing in colour. This will probably turn out to be a setback at some point if you are using this as a home printer (in which case and all in one scanner/printer/copies suits most peoples' needs well). Even in the work place this can be an issue as you have to remember you can't print out coloured graphs and figures in your documents. My parents saved me the hassle, time and money of buying my own printer by giving me their old HP Laserjet 1320 (they wanted to buy something more advanced that could do colour and A3 printing). I was rather happy because I generally have a whole heap I have to print out, and also because its hard to get a cheap printer that is well functioning as well nowadays. This printer had been under rather intensive use even years before it came to my hands, and it is still as fully functioning as ever; I guess that is saying something about the reliability and how robust this machine is. Let's face it, buying a mono-chrome laser printer is not an exciting activity! But buying a bad one causes all sorts of hassle. I wanted a reliable printer that would work with ALL of my computers with minimum fuss. I have Macs, Linux machines and standard PCs. I wanted decent quality output and duplex functionality.
