Advantages: Quick, Reliable, Easy to install

Disadvantages: quite expensive, heavy, tall

The HP4050 is a great printer for the small office. The speed of print is fantastic and the ease of use is also great. It is very easy to setup using the WEBJETADMIN tools supplied by HP and connects to a TCP/IP network very easily.

From unpacking the box the machine can be a bit heavy but having said that it never advertised being portable. The machine is large and has a great 500 sheet paper tray underneath. The drivers supplied with this printer were a little out of date but that is common with printer now and a visit to the HP website is a must for new installations of ANY printer.

I used the webjetadmin tool downloaded again from the website and found connecting this machine to our NT TCP/IP network was very easy.

Our users love the printer and say quality and speed is very good but beware of putting on a high desk cabinet as the paper comes out of the top and small users may not be abble to reach the output tray.

Not had a problem with this machine other than an occaisional paper jam in the six months that we have had it.

I thoroughly recommend this printer that justifies it's cost by having minimal support calls after installation and being the most trouble free printer that I have come across.
