The 4050 printer by Hewlett Packard was a replacement for our 4L in our office. The 4L was an absolute reliable servant until the last year of its 4 year stay in our office and produced 1,000's of copies of work. It now resides in my bedroom as my home printer and works fine as it was the network card that prevented it from continuing use in the office. The 4050 took over and had some new added features. It had a deeper paper tray so could hold more paper. It was a quieter and quicker printer while still maintaining the print quality of old. It was a bit bigger that the 4L but this may be because of the increased Paper capacity.
At £1000 it is serious money for a printer but is unmatched in quality and reliability.
