I bought this printer last year it is a laser jet printer and only prints in black.
I find the printer easy to use loading the paper is simple and it is quick to respond when printing, you can load the paper tray with 150 sheets at a time, I tend to use less as sometimes it won't pick up the paper if there is too much in.
Printing approx 14 pages a minute it is not the fastest printer on the market but for the price it is fine.
When I bought this one it was on offer £59.99 having checked on Amazon the printer has been upgraded to a newer model HP P1102 LaserJet Pro Laser Printer , it is essentialy the same as the P1005.
It is currently on offer from Amazon for £69.99
I found the printer easy to install and believe me if I can do it anyone can.
There is a feature which will let you know when you are running low on toner kicking in at approx 300 pages left. (this feature only works if you are using HP branded toners which I will go into in more detail in just a minute)
Hp toner is expensive to buy the cheapest I have found it is around the £45.00 mark but I do use compatable toners or remanufactured and they tend to work out at around £25.00 and so far I have had no problems,(it does say that using toners other than Hp branded may void any warrenty claim) but it is a chance I was willing to take, so far I have not had any issues.
I use the printer daily and find the print quality even on the lower quality settings to be very good.
This printer is fairly quiet in use and it is smaller than many laser printers out there making it an ideal choice if space is limited.
Overall this is good little printer for the money.
The HP Laserjet P1005 is a fast and sophisticated printer which can be placed anywhere such as an office or just at home. Most computer retails price this printer around about £66-£88. I purchased my own at around £65-£70 and I think a laserjet printer priced at that, it must be a top quality printer. The speed of printing is very quick and only takes about 4 seconds before it begins to print a page.
Ever since i have purchased my HP Laserjet P1005, I've had no major or minor problems with it. You dont have to worry about the quality wih this printer, it has most features that anyone would want for a fast, noise-less printer, printing pages with ease and in no time!
The only disadvantage i would say about this printer, is that unfortunatley it doesn't print colour ink, otherwise this printer would have ticked all my needs in a printer. Also, sometimes with my laptop the printer takes abit of time before it recognises that my laptop wants it to print something, I dont know if that happens with every laptop, but it does sometimes with mine?
Other than that, a very good printer to buy - i would give it 4* stars.
Good Quality, fast, noiseless, meets anyone's budget, no big space required! :)
I've been using this printer for about 3 months now. It's surely a very helpful printer. HP Laserjet P1005 is maybe the most valuable HP products available.
This printer has a great capability of fast printing. With a 14 PPM and a capacity of 150 sheets, u can count on this printer to helps you finish your job. The printing quality is another thing that included on this printer. 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi guaranteed to satisfy you.
I have been using this printer for my entire job. I use it to print a proposal, job contract, module, and even to print a pictures of my favorite. I'm so delighted with the print result.
Well i do a little dissapointed with the design. Since it took more space on my desk. And it's hard for me to move this printer if I need it on other places.
About the price, this printer sold in a fair price I guess. With it quality and feature, It's worthed to buy.
My husband has been using the HP Laserjet P1005 at work for the past few months. His [much more expensive] laserjet broke down and he was quite put out to receive this in return!
Amazon charges £69.75 for this product [with free delivery within the UK]. At this price you knwo that the printer is not going to be top of the range, however, it's not total rubbish by any means. It prints at speeds of up to 14ppm [which is no good for high volume printing but not too shabby] and has an output quality of 1200-dpi.
It has a 133 MHz processor and 2 MB of memory.
One advantage of this printer is that it is fairly small in comparison to many others on the market [which saves on valuable deskspace - more room for coffee cups!]. It is also quite quiet [my husband's last printer sounded like an aircraft taking off whenever it was turned on].
It comes with a 150 sheet input tray, which I would consider adequate for most home use.
Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity is provided and it was easy to install. It isn't the best printer to operate that I've used but it's not completely incomprehensible and the instructions are clear.
In conclusion, for the money this isn't a bad printer but I think that a more expensive printer with a better ppm rate would be a better investment.
