We purchased the above printer to use in a small office a few years ago. It is a well built and fairly quiet but quick machine. Once of the main advantages for us is that it can be connected to a local network via a network cable (rather than plugging in via a usb) and was very easy to set up. The set-up disc that came with the printer has the usual HP Toolbox software on it which allows you to keep track as to how many sheets of paper can be printed are left in the ink cartridge - the software also allows your to change some of the settings. Unfortunately this printer only prints on A4 or smaller paper, however due to that fact that there are not many options on this printer there are less things to go wrong. Since using this printer we have never had it breakdown and very rarely do we get a paper jam. The cartridges (if you stick with the proper Hewlett Packard ones) are fairly expensive, however you do get a lot of print for your money. We have purchased compatible cartridges and the printer has no problems using them and the print quality is just as good. This printer gets used very often and I would estimate that we have printed more than 300,000 sheets on it so it is hard wearing and could cope well being used in a larger office.
We have used this printer for at least 6 months now and have had very little trouble with it. It prints clearly and effiently and is a lot more reliable than several other printers in the office! It is quite fast and can be connected to several computers without affecting the speed significantly. It is very easy to use and to load paper into, paper rarely gets jammed and the symbols on the side make it clear if there is an error and indicate what the problem is. Furthermore, the ink cartridge on this printer seems to last a long time compared to our laserjet printer, so it is far more efficient to use. Another bonus is that it is relatively quiet, so is really ideal for a small office where noise can be a real distraction. This is not a printer for real heavy duty printing - it does not have a lot of different settings, eg. double sided printing or A3 printing - but the fact they have kept things simple here mean that the product is reliable, speedy and does not require a lot of maintenance.
A pretty average laserjet printer from the trusted HP. A decent buy for a small business, but it doesn't really do anything to stand out from the rest.
Havn't had any major problems with it (had it about 3 months now), besides occasionally taking a little while to warm up in the mornings. It won't be recognised by the network for up to 15 mins, and the printer queue builds up. (This may be a network issue, but it's the only one of 6 printers on the network with the problem)
1200x1200 DPI is more than good enough for most peoples day to day needs, and at 26ppm it's a reasonable speed, though nothing special.
Nice and compact, easy to install, fairly average specifications. Wouldn't speicifcally recommend, but if your looking to get one, I wouldn't advise against it. You could probably match the specification without spending quite as much money.
