Technical Details for NEC Superscript 870

NEC Superscript 870 ... eight pages per minute, and 600 dpi resolution, the 870 has the print speed and clarity to service both business and home print job requirements. The SuperScript 870 prints on letter, legal and heavy stock paper, plus transparencies, labels and all standard envelopes in several sizes. A 150-sheet multipurpose tray holds input media. The face-up output tray can hold up to 50 sheets, and the face-down output tray has a maximum capacity of 100 sheets. A 500-sheet second cassette is available as an option. The SuperScript 870 also incorporates Adobe Memory Booster that effectively triples installed memory to ensure successful printing of even complex jobs.

This printer can be used with Macintosh systems with the optional network interface card kit. This printer supports Adobe PrintGear and HP PCL 4.5 printer languages, with 78 Type 1 fonts and 14 resident PCL fonts. Standard interface for the unit is a Bi-directional parallel, with the cable sold separately. The SuperScript 870 can be upgraded to a network printer with the optional 10/100Base-T Ethernet network interface upgrade kit to support TCP/IP protocol, Windows NT, Novell Netware and others.
