Advantages: 14 pages a minute, good price, lasts and lasts

Disadvantages: silly drawer placement, jams a lot, expensive ink.

I've had this printer for years. In fact I can no longer remember how I got it, but I did, somehow.
It's a value printer, that much is clear, it looks cheap but it is small and kind of compact for a laser printer.

It only prints black and white, because it's laser, but I now have a photo printer for times when black and white isn't enough.

Most of the time it performs OK. It gets paper jams if there isn't enough paper in the drawer, and it can have a bit of a hissy fit when you over fill it. Sometimes though the paper just wont stop jamming, you can play around with it, and take paper out, put more in, even hit the printer, but sometimes for about 2 days at a time, it just decides to stop working. Then out of the blue, it'll work again.

But the most annoying thing is the drawer. The drawer sits directly on the ground, so to pull out the drawer requires lifting the printer up a bit and sort of wiggling it out. It doesn't come out easily, and it certainly doesn't go back in easily either. It's hard to get it to go back in straight and many arguments have been waged between me and the printer as I try to make the damn thing work.

It's easier to work apart from that...unless you lose the CD, because for some reason the website just doesn't make it easier for find the driver, and I've spent hours trying to get the right one.

But as a budget printer goes, it isn't all bad. It does 14 pages a minute, it's still running after years and years and it really has been put through its paces as I've printed out entire manuscripts on this thing.

The ink is very expensive to buy so I like to run it dry before investing in any more, unless I'm doing manuscripts which have to be pristine.

One day I will buy a new printer, but meanwhile my little Samsung keeps on whirring, and even with all the gripes, who can complain about that?

Summary: A budget printer, still going, worth every penny.
