Good for students (Xerox Phaser 3130)

Advantages: good quality of printing

Disadvantages: basic, does not print double sided

I bought this specifically to print lecture notes in black and white. This is a very cost effective printer. So far, I have yet to change the toner and it is still printing even after 2 years. It does print fast enough for me although it would be slow in comparison to those giant office printers.

The printer is rather basic. it doesn't print double sided unless you feed in paper manually so this could be a big deterrence to those who hates waiting for their print out or who hates wasting paper.

However, I find the quality of printing very good. Even when it is in draft mode, the words still come out clear and dark enough to read. (Draft mode prints in lower quality which saves toner).

Warning: do not use used paper in the printer. This causes dirt to accumulate on the inside of the printer, causing paper jams. I have a three year warranty on it so it was alright for me to take to the store for a cleaning but otherwise, it is not advisable to do so.

Summary: Cost effective printer as the same toner has been used for two years
