Advantages: Solid inks worth buying just for those, no recycling costs

Disadvantages: Maintenance kit! printer wont print if this runs out.

Bought one of these for use in a school office with mixed feelings about it. My requirments were a fast, quiet, colour laser printer for use in a busy school office.

We were recommended this. First off we found out this machine should NEVER be turned off without good reason with taking upto 15 Minutes to start itself up, it didnt get off to a good start. It did redeem itself with the solid inks mind, these wetre fantastic, no messy toner going all over you, and no recycling problems and extremly easy to fill, just pop another block of tner in the slot and thats it. There are some hiddwen costs which you must consider.

You need to by a maintenance kit and when it runs out the printer just stops and will not print anything at all untill a new one is installed. The maintenance kit turned out to be quite expensive, this coupled with the fact our users had problems getting it to recognise envelopes, and sometimes delays in printing times. We have decided to use this printer else where within the school.

Summary: Good printer with excellent quality prints, just lets itself down with features and and very costs.
