Advantages: Doesn't clog face, Little goes a long way

Disadvantages: Price

I was given Laura Mercier foundation primer as a gift, as I had been previously using No7 pore refining serum and wanted to see if there was any difference between a mid range product and a high end product. I wouldn't normally spend £25 on myself but it was a nice treat from a friend.

The tube holds 50ml and is a white watery consistence. There is a simple screw lid and I find it easy to use. I have to say it doesn't look very expensive.

The cream has Vitamins A, C, & E whoich protect the skin from everyday pollution in the environment which dry out your skin, it rcommends sticking it in the fridge if you have puffy skin that needs refreshing.

You can apply it over the top of your moisturiser or on a clean face, I chose to use it on a clean face after my morning shower as I don't moisturise in the morning (I know I'm bad!)

The cream almost instantly absorbs into your skin without leaving any residue. My skin didn't feel moisturised or hydrated but dry as if I was ready to have foundation put on it and it wouldn't end up greasy. Having said that, my skin felt smooth and didn't feel tight which is essential with sensitive skin.

I applied my concealer, then foundation and a dab of powder. I didn't see any difference at first but through the day I noticed that I didn't have to keep touching up my make up and it wasn't sliding off my face during a hot day and under air conditioning. I did notice on the side of my forehead, I have a little dry spot and it made my skin quite flaky there and just emphasised the problem unforunately.

I actually quite like the primer, my skin is combination and it made my skin dry and have me an even base for my makeup. My foundation didn't clog up into my pores and lines and after a few weeks I noticed a real improvement in the appearence of my skin.

It is a nice product but costly, I think there are other products on the market that do just as good a job as this one at the fraction of the price.
